THE HELL IN HELL NAW. The girdle/leotard swag is not what’s crackin ma. She got that Rosanne Bar meets Rihanna swag going on (word to A. Red). I vote NO! on the whole attire and the leather goulashes. Did she get a lifetime supply of Jello pudding pops from Bill for saving the last 2 seasons of the Cosby Show? If so, she looks like she finished her lifetime supply before she turned 25. But you know what…she ain’t paying my black arse no mind. In the time it took me to find this pic and roast her, she probably made about $2 mil, which mean all of her “baby fat” could be removed at any given point and time, and she could buy WordPress and remove my little blog. (*thinks*) I love you Raven! (*kisses*)
Ok…now, on with the blog…
Like I said yesterday, I’M BACK! Let me continue (at least for this week) hit y’all up on how the format is gonna go this season:
- Mondays = Monolog Monday – where I will talk about experiences from my point of view, mixed with humor.
- Tuesdays = Real Talk Tuesday – (self explanatory)
- Wednesdays = Wild Wednesday – where I will talk about off the wall stupid and shameful topics
- Thursdays = Throwback Thursday - where I will be posting videos and articles about that artist(s)
- Fridays = Freestyle Friday – where I will attempt to do a wrap-up of the week in rap form
So, with that being said, let’s get this Real Talk Tuesday crackin…
Hello congregation. If I had a subtitle to my message, it would be “Since when in the hell did I owe you anything?” Let us pray…AMEN.
What motivated this topic were two isolated incidents.
Exhibit A:
and Exhibit B:
Bossip’s comment about Tito Jackson’s Lawsuit
Now, before I go into these situations, let me get this out of the way first. If someone works their arse off, focuses in life, set goals, achieve goals, and disciplines themselves to a level of success, guess what? Even if you knew them, was next-door neighbors with them, was their 5th cousin on your daddy side, etc., they don’t owe you the explicit word for feces.
Why is it that when someone makes it, the whole neighborhood and/or family tree thinks that we all made it? No nigga! Make it for yourself. Successful people help successful people (or at least people who tries). Now…let’s get into these examples:
Exhibit A: “What about the black community, Barack?” That is what the banner said. (*ponders*) What in the isolated hell are you talking about? Barack isn’t running for President of the NAACP or BET! This is America nigga! You don’t see lobbyist going to Kinkos, making banners that say, “What about the white community, McCain!” America has whites, blacks, a hella latinos, etc. What has Barack done for your arse? Pulled up his pants, paid attention in school, set goals, accomplished goals, and now is on the brink of making history. What has he done? He became a beacon for your low-expectating having arse. You ain’t getting no “Nigga’s Day” when he becomes President, so stop sweating him. Either support his vision of change, or go change it yourself. (*sigh*…sorry for my rant)
Exhibit B: This coontisitic comment was the straw that broke the camel’s back. “Damn would these niccas get their stacks in order??? Michael made way to much paper for this bullsh*t to be going down. SMH.” Michael? Michael? Michael didn’t eff up here. Tito did. If you read the article, ask yourself these 4 questions:
- Why is his martial arts teacher lending him money?
- How much does a martial arts teacher earn to lend that much money?
- Why are you tryna buy real estate if you can’t even afford to go look at it?
- Since when did it take $25K to look at real estate? That sounds like vacation!
If I remember correctly, ALL OF THESE MOFOS grew up in the same house. They had the same opportunities. Eventho Mike is weird as hell, he was disciplined. The rest of them futhamuckas was kickin it. Actually, I take that back. Tito is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But still, eventho they are brothers, that doesn’t mean that Mike has to toss dollars to bail his brothers out all the time. And who knows, he probably did. And you know what? Who helps successful people? No one thinks about when Wacko Jacko was getting hit up about slumber parties and Jesus Juice. Was Tito in attendance? Hell to the naw, but yet Mike owes him his ATM card? Nigga please. (*sigh*) Let me get back to my point. My point is this: Janet wasn’t even in the Jackson 5 and she made it. And yeah, they may not have been as talented in music like Mike and Janet, they still had talent and learned discipline. Hell, Crypt Keeper LaToya made it, even with her tell-all books. That nigga Tito should’ve made a tell-all book. I mean he had a front row seat in all of the beatings. His name was the first to be called for a beating:
Joseph:“Who’s been effin with my guitar?”
Tito: “Not me Joseph”
Joseph: “TITO!! Get cho arse in here and pick a branch nigga!”
Tito knew good and well that he was the only nigga pluckin on a guitar. Anyways, their choices got them in the situations they are in, not the lack of Mike financing them or the iron fist of Joseph.
(*cue the Family Matters/Full House “The Message of The Episode” music*)
People, if we all create goals, have a vision, find our purpose, and fulfill that purpose through discipline, we won’t have to be so dependent on a hero. A hero is only necessary when someone falls, but only you can control your legs from tripping you. Live life as if no hero exist. Then and only then, will you realize that you are a hero too.
Well said, WELL SAID.
I agree with you wholeheartedly on both accounts, but DEFINITELY on Obama. Black folks need to get a grip. This “what are you doing for the black community” ish is EXACTLY why Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton didn’t make it this far. Please don’t get me wrong, we NEED black men down in the trenches getting their hands dirty, but LET’S BE FOR REAL. Black folks need to quit thinking that just ’cause one of us made it, that somehow means they OWE the rest of us something, cause they don’t. Not even a little bit.
I agree.. very well said! I wish black folks would also remember that we can’t take the entire credit for Obama.. ya’ll have seen his momma right? To me this is a win win situation for all. You know how our mothers used to quote it.. I ain’t got to do nothing but stay black and die.. and this is what others should realize!
If I here one more person say “I’m voting for Barack because he’s Black” I will lose it! It’s sad that people are still so color struck. How about voting for him because you like his stance on change, because you’re happy to be a part of making history, not because he looks like you. And the case of the bandwagon jumping is getting ridiculous too. You let ONE person if the family get some money, everyone has their hands off and hollering “we out the hood now!” SMH How are you out when you didn’t even contribute? It’s amazing how people will sit back and watch someone work hard, then try to reap the benefits of someone else’s labor.
